Take an object. Do something to it. Do something else to it.
— Jasper Johns

I'm hugely influenced by dada and neo-dada. In this photography project, I explore a peculiar combination of photography, painting & collage. I create three dimensional collages with found objects, food and cheaply printed old paintings. I turn pre-existing works of art into Duchampian ready-mades and take photographs of them.

I called it Accident series because it started by accident. I was downloading these old paintings and printing them for another project I had had in my mind.  One day I came home very hungry. I had pile of prints in my hand. I put them on the kitchen counter. I started making omelet. By accident, I dropped the egg on one of prints. I got this idea immediately. I set the lights and start taking images. That why first image is called “Very First Accident”. Gradually project involved.  Initial idea for this project was modernizing classic paintings and giving them new meanings paintings.

This project also is questioning ownership. It makes viewers wonder, if I’m really making these painting my own. It puts me in the same category of other artists who use existing images to create new artworks such as Richard Prince, Sherrie Levine.
