Feelings by Clara Fialho

Born in Porto Alegre, Brazil, Clara Fialho moved to New York in her early teens. She received her BFA from The Cooper Union for the Advancement of Science and Art in 2006. Since then, she has been exhibiting extensively in solo, two-person, and group shows, throughout the country and abroad. Most recently, her work has been exhibited at Scope Miami (2015) and Scope New York (2015 and 2016). Her work has been featured in numerous publications, including the cover of New York Spaces Magazine. Saatchi Art has named her "One To Watch".

My work is intended to take the viewer away from the world of thought. Most of the time it is process oriented, focusing on subjects such as the unconscious, impermanence, relationships, unity, nature, love, and dreams. It reveals universal forms, which are believed to be innately present in every human being. I feel the need to show these elements in order to bring them about. They are often the product of a personal disenchantment with the material world around me.
